In 2019 Marshmello placed 5th in the list of the 100 best DJs in the world according to DJ Mag. He is one of Forbes’ highest paid EDM artists.
For several years, the public didn’t know who was hiding behind the emoji marshmallow mask. Who was this daring character, rapidly growing in popularity? From 2015, his career began – he published remixes on Soundcloud and received a huge response not only from users, but also from more experienced artists. In the same year, Marshmello performed at the Ultra Music Festival Miami and California’s HARD Day of the Dead festival. After this incredible and rapid success, he secured his career with his first collection of tracks in Joytime, which reached the first line in the Digital chart of top electronic albums.
In 2017, he shot his successful collaborations “Silence” with Khalid and “Wolves” with Selena Gomez. Both tracks have been certified as having platinum status. 2018 resulted in another hit collaboration with British vocalist Anne-Marie, with their multi-platinum hit “Friends.”
After releasing his second full-length album, Joytime II, he recorded the single “Happier” with Bastille. The song quickly became his highest chart track to date, rising to the top three in the United States, Britain and Australia.
Although Marshmello’s identity remains unknown, the figure is associated with the American DJ Christopher Comstock. This occurred after several “infiltrations” occurred, such as revealing paparazzi pictures, alongside little things, such as the realization that he has the same tattoos as those which conceal the person hiding under the mask. But without official confirmation, the musician continues his work under the name of Marshmello.
